The helicopter was working us on 4125 Khz but the yacht was on 2182 kHz, as I recall. Anyway, the incident had made the news on the radio and about 4 telegrams had come in from family members to members of the crew. The yacht was no longer able to use its radio so I asked the crew of the helicopter if he'd like to pass the telegrams to the crew members as they were winched aboard.

He agreed and I passed him the telegrams. We received correspondence some time later from the crew members saying how much they had appreciated being given the telegrams as they came aboard the helicopter, it gave them quite a lift after the trauma of losing there yacht.
